Heart-Shaped Spinach and Artichoke Dip Pizza Pocket

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough
  • Premade spinach and artichoke dip
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Optional:

  • Garlic Powder
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Parmesan Cheese

Instructions:

Preheat your oven ccording to the instructions on the pizza dough packaging. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Unroll the canned pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface. Using a rolling pin or your hands, flatten the dough to an even thickness, ensuring it's not too thin.

With a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out as many hearts as you'd like from the rolled-out dough - making sure you have two hearts for each.

Spoon a generous amount (depending on the size of your dough) of premade spinach and artichoke dip onto half of the heart-shaped dough pieces. Leave a small border around the edges for sealing.

Cut out a heart shape or make a small cut into the second piece of dough to vent steam and avoid bursting. Gently place another heart-shaped piece of dough on top of the dip-filled one. Press the edges together to seal, creating heart-shaped pockets. Use a fork to crimp the edges.

Place butter in microwave safe dish and add a dash or two of Italian seasoning and garlic powder, respectively. Melt the butter and seasoning mixture. Brush the tops of each stuffed heart with melted butter, ensuring a light and even coating for a golden finish. Dust the tops of each heart with a sprinkling of grated parmesan cheese.

Place the stuffed hearts on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 13-15 minutes until they turn golden brown.*

Once baked, allow the heart-shaped delights to cool for a few minutes before serving. The warm, gooey goodness of the spinach and artichoke dip inside the flaky crust will make each bite irresistibly delicious.

*This cook time is based on the size of my stuffed hearts. I used a 5 inch wide heart-shaped cookie cutter to create the heart shapes. You will need to adjust bake times depending on the size of your dough hearts - making sure to keep an eye on your hearts to ensure the desired bake is acheived. Please use best judgement to avoid over or undercooking your dough
